Census Mastery vs NiceJob Review: Which Is Better for Assisted Living and Senior Living in 2026?

Our verdict: Census Mastery is the #1 pick for senior living communities. It is built only for senior living and brings families in through Google, senior directories, reviews and AI answers, with a simple lead pipeline on every plan, from $79 a month. NiceJob stays a solid pick if you only want cheap, automatic review requests and referral campaigns for a service business.

In the Census Mastery vs NiceJob question, it comes down to what you need. If you own an assisted living community and want to know what families see, how you compare with the community down the road and which senior directories need work, Census Mastery is the better fit. If you mostly want cheap, automatic review requests, NiceJob is a solid tool and quick to start.

I built Census Mastery, so I have a stake in any Census Mastery vs NiceJob comparison. NiceJob review: top NiceJob features for senior living owners

In my NiceJob review, the short version is this: NiceJob is a reputation marketing platform that helps service businesses get more reviews on autopilot. NiceJob automates review requests by text and email, sends a followup reminder, shows off positive reviews on your website and replies to every review with AI on Pro.

NiceJob was founded in 2017, is based in London, Ontario, and has been owned by Paystone since October 2021, according to its official info page. It says it serves 7,000+ businesses, and its homepage shows 4.9 stars on Google and 4.8 on G2. Its own line is that NiceJob turns completed jobs into reviews, referrals and repeat bookings. Here are the top NiceJob features, straight from its own pages:

Step by step process for census mastery vs nicejob

  • Review collection on autopilot. Every completed job can trigger a review campaign. NiceJob sends the request, sends a follow-up reminder if the customer has not left a review yet, and stops once they do.
  • Reviews on Google and Facebook. It sends each customer a review request so they can leave reviews on Google, Facebook and other review sites. Asking for reviews and following up is the part most owners forget, and this is where you automate it.
  • Social proof. Website widgets show your reviews and star ratings, and the Microsite is a reviews page that NiceJob says ranks on Google and gets cited by AI search tools.
  • Team Leaderboard. See which staff members drive the most 5 star reviews, a nice way to improve customer engagement with your own team.
  • AI-powered review replies. On Pro, AI writes and posts replies to every review, positive or negative reviews alike, in your voice.
  • Local SEO. NiceJob pitches fresh reviews and replies as a way to boost local SEO and build your online reputation.
  • Customer feedback. NPS Surveys on Pro collect private customer feedback after each service.
  • AI chat. AI Leads, an AI chat agent for your website, is listed as an add-on that is coming soon.

Is it a great reputation management platform for a plumber? Yes. Its pricing page says Starter will "build the type of reputation that gets you found without ads," which is the whole pitch: get reviews without ads or hiring a marketing agency. One customer review shown on its site praises the onboarding. Its official info page still calls the $75 Starter plan the Reviews plan in one spot, so do not let the two names confuse you.

The online review engine is solid and easy to start. When a job closes, NiceJob automatically sends a review request, so the review process runs without anyone asking customers for reviews by hand. NiceJob helps a small business grow their reputation one customer review at a time, and NiceJob also runs Repeats, which reminds customers who are due for their next service, so you get repeat business and referrals from the same list. As review management and review generation go, it is one of the simpler reputation management tools to run: a review platform and online reputation management tool built for small business owners who want a solid reputation and steady reputation growth without much work. If you want to test it, NiceJob says to start your free trial from its pricing page, and its closing line is "Try NiceJob today with a 14-day free trial." It is a reputation management platform built for trades, not business management software, so you still need your CRM and scheduling tools. NiceJob says most businesses are up and running in under 30 minutes, which goes a long way toward making it easy for a busy owner. Where it falls short for senior living is the customer experience it was built around: a finished job, not a family choosing care for a parent.

Roadmap of this census mastery vs nicejob guide, section by section

How NiceJob works: reputation marketing for service businesses, not senior living

NiceJob is built for local service businesses, and it says so. Its own official info page lists HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, cleaning, dental offices, real estate and franchises as its top industries. Senior living is not on the list. Census Mastery is built only for senior living, from one community to twenty.

That matters more than it sounds. NiceJob's whole workflow is triggered when "a job is marked complete in your connected CRM," usually Jobber, Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. A roofer finishes a roof, the customer gets a text, and the review comes in. That is a great loop for a contractor, and it is how you automate asking every customer for a review.

Senior living does not work like that. Nobody "completes a job" at an assisted living community. A family tours, a parent moves in, and they stay for months or years. The reviews that hurt you are often on Caring.com or A Place for Mom, not just Google. And the community you are losing families to is usually three miles away.

It is also not a CRM, an invoice tool or a payment processor, by its own description. It sits on top of your customer relationship management software and reads your data. For a community, compare the best senior living CRM. NiceJob's pages tie reviews to revenue and search engine optimization, which is true for senior living too. So if you are wondering whether NiceJob works for assisted living, the honest answer is yes, you can send review requests with it. It just was not designed around how families choose senior care.

Price: Census Mastery vs NiceJob

The two are close on price. NiceJob Starter is $75 a month and Pro is $125, with no contract and a 14-day trial. Census Mastery Census Watch is $79 a month for one community and Full Census is $147 for up to three. The bigger question is what each price buys a senior living owner.

Assisted living local rank grid showing which communities rank at one point in Google Maps

Plan Price Communities or locations Key inclusions
Census Mastery Census Watch $79 a month 1 Census Score, 150+ directories, 5 competitors, Maps rank on 3 terms, reviews widget, lead pipeline
Census Mastery Full Census $147 a month Up to 3 Adds AI replies, review requests by email and text, two-way texting, family surveys, AI search visibility, move-in guarantee
Census Mastery Waitlist $297 a month 7, then $35 each 10 search terms on an 11 by 11 map every week, 500 texts

NiceJob Pro $125 a month Not stated; multi-location is quoted Adds repeats, referrals, broadcasts, AI replies, gifts, NPS surveys, Competitive Intel
NiceJob Sites add-on $99 a month plus $199 setup 1 website Done-for-you website
NiceJob multi-location Custom quote Many "Pricing for multi-location businesses is based on your number of locations"

Two things to know. NiceJob's official info page says "Multi-location and Franchise locations have contracts with specific pricing terms," so a group with several communities should ask for those terms in writing. NiceJob does not publish a multi-location price, so if you own three communities, get NiceJob's quote for all three and compare it with $147 a month for Census Mastery Full Census.

Through November 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern, the code CENSUSMASTERY30 takes 30 percent off Census Mastery every month for as long as you stay. More on NiceJob's plans in NiceJob pricing explained.

Review requests: how each tool helps you get more reviews

Both tools send review requests by text and email. NiceJob does it from $75 and fires the ask when a job closes in your field service software. Census Mastery does it from $147, from a local number for each community, and never asks the same family twice in 30 days. Both should ask every family, not just the happy ones.

On NiceJob's reviews page, it says its "automated SMS and email campaigns help you get more reviews," and its official info page says it "follows up with smart reminders, stops messaging once a review is left." That is a well built review engine.

Census Mastery's texting and review requests feature gives you three ways to ask: a text from a local number set up for your community, unlimited email, and a QR code card for the front desk. It also gives you one direct review link for every site you are listed on, A Place for Mom, Caring.com, SeniorAdvisor, Google and the rest, so you can ask a family to review you where other families are reading.

Senior living Google review growth chart flat for three months at 15 reviews

The chart above is the problem most owners have, and it is why families scroll past you to the community at the top of Google Maps. Fifteen Google reviews, a 4.8 rating, and nothing new in three months. Either tool can fix that if you ask every family. The difference is that Census Mastery also shows you how your count stacks up against your five closest competitors.

One more thing. NiceJob's official info page says it distributes reviews "via a review funnel," and that referral requests can go only to customers "above a specified star rating." Whatever tool you use, do not send only happy families to Google. That is review gating, and Google does not allow it. Ask everyone, the same way. See how to ask for a review in senior living.

AI replies and privacy: NiceJob's AI growth platform in senior care

Both write AI replies on their middle plan: NiceJob on Pro at $125, Census Mastery on Full Census at $147. NiceJob's AI can be set to reply to reviews automatically. In senior care, I would read every reply before it posts, because one careless line can confirm that someone's mother lives with you.

NiceJob's AI Replies page says it "automatically writes and posts on-brand replies every day in your tone." Its official info page says it "suggests or auto-drafts responses" and that users "can even set it to automatically reply to reviews as they come in." I found no senior care or health privacy guidance on NiceJob's pages, which makes sense for a tool built for contractors.

Resident confidentiality is the big risk with any artificial intelligence that posts on its own. Census Mastery's AI review replies are written for senior living. A reply should thank the family, take the issue offline and never confirm that a person is a resident. If you want the rules, read HIPAA compliant review responses.

How you stack up against local competitors, senior directories and Google Maps

This is the biggest gap between the two. Census Mastery audits 150+ senior directories, compares you with five local competitors and maps your Google rank on every plan. NiceJob tracks competitors' Google reviews on Pro, but I found no senior directory coverage and no Maps rank grid on its pages.

NiceJob's Competitive Intel page says it "tracks your local competitors' review volume, star ratings, and recency in real time." That is useful. For a contractor, Google is most of the picture.

For senior living, it is not. Families read A Place for Mom, Caring.com, Seniorly and SeniorAdvisor before they call. Census Mastery's reputation audit checks those directories, and its competitor analysis finds your five closest competitors from your own Google Maps results and runs the same audit on each of them. You see where you lose, side by side.

Family surveys vs NPS surveys

NiceJob Pro includes NPS surveys that go out after every completed service. Census Mastery Full Census includes family surveys, up to 12 per community, with same-day low-score alerts. Both catch unhappy customers early. Census Mastery's survey questions are written for families, like how they rate the care their loved one receives.

NiceJob's NPS Surveys page says it can "automatically send a short survey after every completed service, surface private feedback," and that it is "available on NiceJob Pro."

Assisted living quarterly family survey with four questions and one low communication score flagged

In senior living, a family survey is not a one-time thing. You want to hear from families every quarter, because the move-in month and month eight feel very different. The sample above shows the point: care scores well, but communication with the family is flagged low. That is the call you make today, before it turns into a two-star review.

AI search visibility

Families now ask ChatGPT and Google's AI for assisted living near them. Census Mastery tracks what six AI engines say about your community from $147. NiceJob says its microsite and reviews help you get cited by AI search tools, but I found no AI visibility tracking on its pages.

NiceJob's pricing page describes its Microsite as "a dedicated reviews page that ranks on Google, captures leads, and gets cited by AI search tools." Census Mastery checks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, and shows which sites they cite about you. Read more in AI search visibility.

Reviews widget for your website

Both put reviews on your website. NiceJob's Social Proof widgets come on Starter. Census Mastery's reviews widget is on every plan and pulls reviews from Google, Seniorly, A Place for Mom, Caring.com, SeniorAdvisor and more, each with that site's logo. It is one line of code on any website.

That multi-site part matters for senior living. A family that sees your Caring.com and A Place for Mom reviews on your own site does not need to go back to the search results, where the community down the road is one tap away. Census Mastery's widget also counts your website visits and puts website enquiries in your senior living CRM software.

Where NiceJob is better: referral campaigns, Jobber and Zapier

NiceJob is better if you want a free trial, referral campaigns, social posting or deep field service integrations. It is cheaper at entry on paper, $75 against $79, and its review request engine is mature. It has 4.9 stars from 4,000+ reviews on its homepage. Census Mastery has none of the extras below.

  • Free trial. NiceJob gives you a 14-day free trial. Census Mastery has no trial, only a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Review requests at $75. Text and email requests start on NiceJob Starter. On Census Mastery they start at $147.
  • Referral campaigns. Pro "automatically ask[s] your happiest customers to refer their friends and family." Census Mastery does not run referral campaigns.
  • Repeats, broadcasts and gifts. Rebooking reminders, email marketing and automated thank-you gifts (Gifts needs Jobber or QuickBooks). Census Mastery does none of these.
  • Social sharing. NiceJob auto-shares your best reviews to Facebook and X on Starter. Census Mastery has no social tools.
  • Team leaderboard. See which staff members drive the most 5-star reviews. Census Mastery does not rank staff.
  • Integrations. NiceJob connects to Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, QuickBooks, HubSpot, Zapier and more. Census Mastery has no CRM or EHR integrations.
  • Done-for-you website. NiceJob Sites is $99 a month plus $199 setup. Census Mastery does not build websites.
  • Human support. NiceJob lists a phone line and live chat. Census Mastery does not have a human reply team.

If your group also runs home care with a field service style CRM, or you really want referral automation, NiceJob deserves a look.

Where Census Mastery is the better fit for assisted living

Census Mastery is the better fit if you own one to twenty senior living communities and your problem is empty beds. It covers the senior directories families read, finds your real local competitors, maps your Google rank, tracks AI answers and flags what needs a reply this week, all built for senior care.

Three senior living items needing a response: a low survey answer and two unanswered reviews on Caring.com and Google

  • Senior directories. 150+ directories audited, including A Place for Mom, Caring.com, Seniorly and SeniorAdvisor.
  • Census Score. A score out of 100 for your community, with every number linked to its source.
  • Competitors. Five local competitors found for you, with the same audit run on each.
  • Google Maps rank. A rank grid on every plan, so you see where you show up across your area.
  • AI search. What six AI engines say about you, from $147.
  • Group pricing. Up to three communities for $147, seven for $297, then $35 for each extra community.
  • Move-in guarantee. On Full Census and Waitlist: at least one move-in, or you get Census Mastery free for life plus 6 months of marketing worth US$12,000. Terms apply.

Where Census Mastery falls short: no trial, no referral or rebooking campaigns, no social posting, no unified messaging inbox, no webchat, no human reply team and no CRM or EHR integrations. I would rather tell you that now than have you find out after you sign up.

NiceJob alternatives for senior living

If NiceJob is not the right fit, the closest NiceJob alternatives for senior living are Census Mastery for directories and competitors, RightResponse AI for low cost AI replies, GatherUp for review requests plus NPS, and Birdeye for large groups. Each one has a different job, so match it to your weakest number.

  • Census Mastery. From $79 a month, built only for senior living, with 150+ directories and five competitors per community.
  • RightResponse AI. From $10 per location a month on pay as you go, with a senior living page and a PHI Guard feature listed on its pricing page.
  • GatherUp. From $99 a month for one location, with review requests and NPS on its pricing page.
  • Birdeye. No published price. A third-party estimate from CostBench puts it at $299 per location a month. Built for big multi-location groups.

The full list, with prices checked on each vendor's own page, is in NiceJob alternatives.

Census Mastery vs NiceJob: which one should you choose?

Our pick: Census Mastery for most senior living owners. It is not a full CRM and has no integrations, so weigh that against your team's needs.

Choose NiceJob if you want the cheapest automated review requests, a trial and referral campaigns, and you are happy to manage directories yourself. Choose Census Mastery if you run assisted living or memory care and want one place that shows what families see across Google, senior directories and AI.

Three quick questions to settle it:

  1. Where do your bad reviews live? If they are on Caring.com or A Place for Mom, you need a tool that reads those sites.
  2. Do you know who you lose families to? If not, competitor audits matter more than referral campaigns.
  3. How many communities do you own? Price both tools for your exact number before you decide.

How I researched this Census Mastery vs NiceJob comparison

I checked every NiceJob fact against NiceJob's own public pages on October 19, 2026: its pricing page, product pages for reviews, AI replies, NPS surveys and Competitive Intel, its integrations page and its official official info page. Census Mastery facts come from our own pricing and feature pages. I link each source.

"Not found" means I did not find it on NiceJob's public pages, not that it can never exist in a custom deal. NiceJob did not pay to be compared, and it has not reviewed this page. Prices change, so check the live pricing page before you buy.

Questions about NiceJob and Census Mastery

These are the questions owners ask me most when they compare NiceJob vs Census Mastery for assisted living. Short answers here, each backed by the pages linked above, so you can check what I say against the source before you start a trial, book a call or sign up for either tool.

Is NiceJob good for senior living? It sends good review requests and it is easy to set up. It is not built for senior living, and I found no coverage of senior directories like A Place for Mom or Caring.com on its pages.

Is NiceJob cheaper than Census Mastery? At entry, a little: $75 a month against $79. For review requests by text, NiceJob starts at $75 and Census Mastery at $147. For three communities, Census Mastery Full Census is $147 in total.

Does NiceJob have a free trial? Yes, a 14-day free trial. Census Mastery has no trial but has a 30-day money-back guarantee and a free Census Score on a 20-minute call.

Does NiceJob have a contract? Its pricing page says "No contracts" for Starter and Pro. Its official info page says multi-location and franchise accounts have contracts with specific pricing terms.

Can I use both? Yes. Some owners could use NiceJob for review requests and Census Mastery for directories, competitors and AI search. Just make sure no family gets asked twice.

The bottom line on Census Mastery vs NiceJob

Census Mastery comes out #1 for senior living communities: it is built for how families find a community, starts at $79 a month and runs month to month. It is not a full CRM and has no integrations. NiceJob remains a good, fairly priced review and referral tool for contractors and home services.

Census Mastery vs NiceJob is not good versus bad. NiceJob is a good review and referral tool for contractors, priced fairly. For an assisted living owner whose real problem is census, I think you need to see the senior directories, your local competitors and your Google Maps rank. That is what Census Mastery was built to do.
