Census Mastery vs Reputation.com: Which Senior Living Reputation Management Platform Is Better for Assisted Living and Nursing Homes in 2026?

By Ronald OsbornePublished Updated

Census Mastery vs Reputation.com: Senior Living Reputation

Census Mastery vs Reputation.com: Which Senior Living Reputation Management Platform Is Better for Assisted Living and Nursing Homes in 2026?

Our verdict: Census Mastery is the #1 pick for senior living communities. It is built only for senior living and brings families in through Google, senior directories, reviews and AI answers, with a simple lead pipeline on every plan, from $79 a month. Reputation stays the stronger choice for large, multi-brand groups that need social tools, ticketing, integrations and managed services.

If you own one to twenty senior living communities and your problem is empty beds, Census Mastery is the better fit: it is built only for senior living, you can sign up online from $79 a month, and it reads the senior directories families use. If you run a large, multi-brand group that needs social tools, ticketing and integrations, Reputation is stronger.

I built Census Mastery, so I have a stake in this. That is why every Reputation fact below comes from Reputation's own public pages, checked on October 19, 2026, with a link so you can check me. There is a full section on where Reputation is better, because it is better at some things.

Census Mastery vs Reputation.com: senior living comparison at a glance

Census Mastery is a senior living reputation and census platform from $79 a month that you can buy online. Reputation is an enterprise reputation platform for multi-location brands, with published plans from $80 per location a month that all route to sales. Both manage reviews and your online presence, but they are built for very different buyers.

Who each reputation platform is built for: assisted living, nursing homes or every location of a brand

Census Mastery is built for senior living owners and operators, from a six-bed care home to a group of twenty communities. Reputation is built for multi-location brands across many industries. Its own homepage features car dealers, apartments, restaurants, health systems, banks and senior living, with case studies from Kia UK and Greystar.

That is not a knock on Reputation. It is a serious enterprise platform. Its homepage describes itself as built "for multi-location brands that need stronger visibility, better customer experience, and clearer action across every location." Its pricing page lists an Enterprise plan with custom plans "for 125+ locations."

Reputation does have a care and senior living page. It says the platform is "designed for regulated, multi-site groups that need visibility, oversight, and compliance control." Much of that page is written for the UK: it names Carehome.co.uk, CQC and Ofsted domains and NHS DSPT. If you run a large group, that depth may be exactly what you want.

Census Mastery came out of the work my agency, Senior Living Mastery, does for assisted living and memory care clients in the US. It is built around how an American family picks a community: Google, A Place for Mom, Caring.com, Seniorly, a tour, and more and more often, a question to ChatGPT.

Review management, every review reply, HIPAA and reputation management software compared

Both platforms handle review monitoring, review requests and AI-powered replies, so every review gets a response. Census Mastery adds a Census Score out of 100 on every plan and checks every AI reply so it never confirms someone is a resident. Reputation offers RepScore and Reputation IQ sentiment analysis from its $115 Rep Core + Pulse plan upward.

On Reputation's pricing page, Rep Core at $80 includes "Reviews Management (Collection, Requesting, & AI Responding)" and "Business Listings & SEO." Rep Core + Pulse at $115 adds Reputation Insights (Rep Score and Journey Insights), the AI Reputation Manager, Pulse Analytics and a basic survey. Its care page says RepScore measures "trust and performance in a single KPI."

Census Mastery's review tracking pulls Google reviews and reviews from senior review sites into one place and flags the negative reviews that need a reply first. Each review response is drafted for you, and review request templates go out by text, with review requests by email on the same plan.

Senior living reviews from Caring.com, Google and A Place for Mom flagged as needing a response

The difference in senior living is privacy. A positive review deserves a warm thank you, but never one that gives away who lives with you. A reply like "we love having your mom here" confirms a resident in public. Census Mastery's AI review replies are written and checked so they never do that. I did not find senior living privacy rules for replies on Reputation's public pages, though large operators can set their own approval steps. Our guide to HIPAA compliant review responses explains the rules either way.

Both tools also read what reviews talk about. Reputation IQ analyzes "family sentiment by topic: safety, staff, communication, cleanliness," per its care page. Census Mastery counts the same kind of themes for you and your competitors side by side.

What Google reviews talk about for a senior living community versus three competitors, by theme

Senior living directories, directory listing coverage and Google Maps rank

Census Mastery audits 150+ senior living directories, including A Place for Mom, Caring.com, Seniorly and SeniorAdvisor, plus a Google Maps rank grid on every plan. Reputation includes Business Listings and SEO on every plan, but I did not find A Place for Mom, Caring.com or a rank grid on its pages.

Reputation's care page talks about keeping hours, services and contact info accurate "across Google, Carehome.co.uk, and directories," and its pricing page lists "Premium Sources" such as Yelp, Tripadvisor, Vitals and Apartment Ratings as an upgrade. Listing management across many locations is a real strength for big groups, and it is why the platform also sells to property management and retail brands.

For a US assisted living facility, though, the directories that send families are senior-specific, and their reviews and ratings shape your community’s reputation as much as your Google rating does. Census Mastery's reputation audit checks every one for whether you are listed, claimed, rated and accurate, and links each number to the page it came from. Its Google Business Profile and map rank feature shows where you rank across an 11 by 11 grid of your town, so map rank tracking is part of every plan. See our list of senior living directories.

Family survey tools and customer experience feedback

Both platforms run surveys. Census Mastery includes family surveys from $147 a month, with same-day alerts when a family scores you low. Reputation includes one basic survey template on Rep Core + Pulse at $115 and six custom templates, email survey requests and targeted outreach on Rep Core + Surveys at $150 per location.

Reputation's survey tools are deeper. Its care page talks about tagging survey data to inspection domains like "Safe," "Caring" or "Well-Led," which matters to UK groups. Census Mastery's family surveys are a simpler management tool for customer feedback: ask families what you want to know, and get low scores the same day so you can call the family before a problem becomes a public review.

Assisted living family survey results with average stars and one flagged low score

One rule I hold either way: ask every family for a Google review, not only the ones who scored you high. Sending only happy families to Google is review gating, and Google does not allow it.

AI search visibility and online reputation management in ChatGPT and Gemini

Both platforms now track AI search. Census Mastery reports what six AI engines say about your community and your competitors from $147 a month. Reputation offers an AI Reputation Manager from its $115 plan, and its care page says it "ensures your homes, nurseries, and franchises appear correctly in AI and local search results."

Census Mastery's AI search visibility report checks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews: who they name, in what order, and which pages they trusted. Reputation also promotes a free GEO readiness check on its homepage. Either way, AI search now reads your entire online presence: reviews, listings, websites and social media. If AI answers are new to you, start with how to show up in ChatGPT as an assisted living community.

Where Reputation is better

Reputation is better for large, multi-brand groups that need role-based access, social media management, ticketing, deeper surveys, managed services and integrations with a CRM or EHR. It also has years of enterprise case studies. Census Mastery offers none of those enterprise extras, and I would rather tell you than have you find out later.

  • Scale and oversight. Enterprise plans for 125+ locations, with dedicated infrastructure and a customer success manager, per the pricing page.
  • Social Suite. Listen, publish and engage on social media from one place. Census Mastery does not manage social media.
  • Actions and Ticketing. Automatically create and assign tickets for feedback. Census Mastery has alerts, not a ticketing system.
  • Premium Integrations. Connect to your CRM or EHR. Census Mastery does not integrate with ALIS, Yardi or other care software.
  • Managed Services. Reputation's team can manage your review responding, listings or social. Census Mastery has no human reply team.
  • Deeper surveys. Six custom templates, email requests and targeted outreach on the $150 plan.
  • Unified inbox for social messages. Its care page mentions centralizing reviews, surveys and social messages. Census Mastery has no unified messaging inbox, no webchat and no phone system.

If you run 50 communities across two brands and need regional dashboards and a formal workflow for every complaint, Reputation is the safer pick. Its intelligence platform is built for that kind of reputation experience management.

Key points at a glance from this census mastery vs reputation.com guide

Where Census Mastery is the better senior living reputation management fit

Census Mastery is the better fit for owners of one to about twenty senior living communities who want to see why families pick someone else and what to do this month. It reads senior directories, compares you with five local competitors, maps your Google rank and tracks AI answers, all from $79 a month, bought online.

  • Senior living only. Every report is written for assisted living, memory care and nursing homes.
  • The directories families use. A Place for Mom, Caring.com, Seniorly, SeniorAdvisor and 140+ more, on every plan.
  • Competitors included. Five competitors from your own Maps results, audited the same way you are. On Reputation, Competitive Insights is an upgrade.
  • Google Maps rank grid. 121 points across your town, on every plan.
  • Lead pipeline. Every inquiry on one board with a morning list of who to call. See the lead pipeline.
  • Three plays a month. The tool tells you the three things that matter most, not 40 charts. That is a reputation strategy a busy administrator can actually run.
  • Assisted living reputation management in plain English. Built for senior care owners, not for a marketing department.
  • A move-in guarantee. Full Census and Waitlist come with a guarantee: at least one move-in, or you get Census Mastery free for life plus 6 months of marketing worth US$12,000. Terms apply.

Which one should you choose? Actionable advice for assisted living owners

Our pick: Census Mastery for most senior living owners. It is not a full CRM and has no integrations, so weigh that against your team's needs.

Choose Census Mastery if you run one to about twenty senior living communities, want to buy online and pay monthly, and care most about reviews, senior directories, Google Maps rank, competitors and AI answers. Choose Reputation if you run a large, regulated, multi-brand group that needs social, ticketing, integrations and managed services.

Compare more Reputation alternatives, Birdeye and other senior living options

If you are weighing Reputation, you are probably looking at Birdeye too, the other big enterprise platform. For a full field, see the roundup and the alternatives list below before you book demos. Each one checks vendor claims against their own pages, the same way this comparison does.

How the Senior Living Mastery team researched this comparison

I checked every Reputation claim against Reputation's homepage, pricing page and care and senior living page on October 19, 2026, and linked each one. Census Mastery facts come from its live pricing and feature pages. No vendor paid for this, and anything I could not find on Reputation's pages is marked "not found."

Assisted living local rank grid showing which communities rank at one point in Google Maps

"Not found" means not on the public pages I checked, not that it can never exist in a custom enterprise deal. Reputation's case study numbers are its own and are not senior living results. Read recent user reviews before you sign with either company.
