Paid advertising in your market
Who is paying for ads, how many, since when, and what a click costs.
Some of the communities near you may be running Google Ads, and you would never know from your desk. Census Mastery reads Google’s and Meta’s public ad records for every business in your market that has a website, tells you who is advertising, how many ads and since when, and what one click costs in your town. Part of the market scan on every plan.

What it shows
For every business within your radius that has a website of its own, Census Mastery reads Google’s public ad record (an ad shown in the last 30 days means “paying on Google now”) and Meta’s public Ad Library (an active ad that sends people to that website means “paying on Facebook or Instagram now”). The answer sits beside each business as a pill, and above the list as one line: “76 percent of the businesses in your market that have a website are paying for ads right now (19 of 25): 19 on Google, 13 on Facebook or Instagram,” with the names.
- Google Ads and Meta ads pills beside every business, next to its distance, rating, reviews and Maps rank
- “More information” opens the detail: how many ads, of which kinds, since when, under which name or from which pages
- A link to the ads themselves on Google’s and Meta’s public pages, so you can read what they are saying
- A business that starts advertising is marked “new” for 30 days
- Checked after every market scan and again every two weeks

What a click costs in your town
For the searches families type (“assisted living near me,” “memory care,” “senior living”), how many searches a month there are in your town and what an advertiser pays for one click at the top of the page. Google’s own published figures, read again every two months. When a click on “assisted living near me” costs $7.45 to $27.63 at the top of the page and 19 businesses in your market are running Google Ads, you know what every free click from a strong Google profile and a full set of reviews is worth to you.

On the Report Card
“Who is paying for ads in your market” is a section of every Report Card, nearest businesses first, with the click prices under it. Your owner, your board and your regional director see it without logging in, next to the score and the head-to-head. It also sits in “Your market” on the community page and in the Competitors panel.

What it never claims
Census Mastery never states or estimates what a competitor spends. Neither Google nor Meta publishes it, and a number we cannot read is a number we do not show. You see how many ads a business is running and since when, and that is the honest claim.
- A business with no website of its own shows “-”, never “no”
- A brand with several communities advertises from one website, so its answer is the brand’s
- Every answer links to the public ad record it came from
Why it matters
The community next door may be no better than you at care. It may simply be paying for the top of the page, where one click on “assisted living near me” can cost $7.45 to $27.63. Knowing who is advertising changes the plan: either you own the free results, or you decide to compete on the paid ones with your eyes open.
